Used, Refurbished and Remanufactured Equipment
What a confusing part of the industry this can be. Most companies do not sell used home equipment so it’s mostly off a gym floor where it got abused for years. The cardio equipment takes the most abuse. There are many moving parts and lots of friction. Parts wear out and parts are expensive! Strength is simpler, assuming the cables are in good shape you are mostly dealing with the paint and aesthetics. All strength refurbishes well.
BE CAREFUL WITH THE CARDIO!
- Age of the machine. When was it originally manufactured?
- Overall Condition of the machine? Poor, Good, Excellent
- Motor condition
- Belt and deck condition
- Electronics diagnostics
- Cable condition
- Paint condition
- Availability of parts
- Usage test (noises, problems)
- How close to new does the machine appear? On a scale of 1 to 10(10 being new)
